Gifts Differing by Isabel Briggs Myers & Peter B. This is a great introductory book for the less academically-inclined. The body of the book only covers the basics but there is an appendix that dives into the more advanced Jungian aspects of the MBTI. This book is also peppered with funny little cartoons that illustrate the characteristics and eccentricities of each type. I’m a big fan of Renee Baron’s books on personality theory because she makes the complexities of the MBTI seem simple.
